About Us

13 YILDIZ SEEDS conducts its business under the name 13 YILDIZ GROUP AGRICULTURE AND SEEDS INDUSTRY AND TRADE INC. Our headquarter is located in Istanbul. We carry out our seed business activities intensively in the provinces of Tekirdağ and Sivrihisar/Eskişehir. After years of preparation, we launched our seed activities in 2018. We set out to bring a new approach and a new perspective to the seed business. Our fundamental principle is to strive to be better every day.

With its strong structure and its emphasis on national R&D, our company is taking firm steps to become one of the leading organizations in national seed business. Bringing together the effective structures of other domestic companies, as our solution partners, we created a brand new power and synergy, and started our journey with the objective of contributing to “DOMESTIC AND NATIONAL SEED SECTOR”. Our company is aware of the fact that having your own “VARIETIES” is essential if you are to achieve success in the seed business, with our primary objective being to satisfy the demands of our farmers, industrialists and consumers with our “NEW VARIETIES”, developed using domestic resources.

Although it is the first year of our operations, we are offering our “BİRYILDIZ” red bread wheat and “İKİYILDIZ” white bread wheat varieties, as products of R&D studies carried out with our solution partner, to our farmers. The seed crop production works of these varieties have also begun, and we have also made registration requests for 10 of our bread wheat candidate varieties. Our company is structured to operate in all of the cereal production regions in the country, thus contributing to “DOMESTIC AND NATIONAL SEED PRODUCTION”, especially in cereal seeds. Accordingly, our SERINCE bread wheat, CUDİ 63 durum wheat, AYHAN two-rowed and SERTEK six-rowed barley varieties are in production, and will be offered in regions cultivating cereal in the summer. In order to provide certified seed of our varieties to farmers involved in bread wheat production all over the country, we have created an extensive marketing network and an appropriate working group./p>

We have established open field tests to ensure that farmers get to know us and our varieties better. We aim to introduce our varieties to farmers with our Field Days, to be organized in these test fields. Our objective is to reach more farmers directly and to aid them in their decision-making processes through the works that we aim to develop and increase year-by-year. In line with these objectives, we opened our second branch in REYHANLI/HATAY in 2020, and through this branch, we have also started a new practice to farmers involved in the production of fruit and vegetables. In addition to plant products, we have started to meet all kinds of needs in fertilizer, pesticide and irrigation systems. We will continue our works to open more branches all over Turkey in the coming years.

We aim to encourage our farmers to produce domestic and national varieties, and to ensure that industrialists use local products, that people can consume genetically and physically clean and high-quality products, and that our seed business maintains its competitiveness through local efforts. This is what we have set out to do. We make the effort, and leave the rest to Allah.

R&D - Variety Creation

The bread wheat varieties offered to farmers by our company are the result of long and arduous processes.

Our variety creation process, from hybridization to registration, encompasses 10–14 years of work. Hybridization is followed by early stage selection, and continues with middle-stage selection processes in which genetic clarification and purity is achieved. This involves almost 7 years of work.

After achieving genetic purity, the variety’s resistance to disease and pests is identified, and the properties that are of economic and ecological importance for our country are evaluated in the selection process, which takes around 3 years. Plants that pass this selection process are subject to a further 2 years of intensive selection related to yield and quality.

The varieties chosen for their yield and quality are evaluated in terms of their ability to adapt to the target production areas for about 2 years. A registration request is made for the selected candidate varieties upon the culmination of these studies.

Registration trials take 2–3 years. Candidate varieties that are deemed successful in the registration trials are registered, provided that they have also passed the trials ensuring their uniformity and purity.

The next step is the seed production of this new variety. Following registration, the next stage involves the production of “Breeder Seeds”, from which pre-basic seeds are produced. In the following year, the basic seeds are obtained from pre-basic seeds, and after that, certified seeds are obtained from the basic seeds and placed on the market for the use of farmers.

All of our varieties have successfully completed all of these stages, and are now serving our agriculture sector and the people of our country.

DELABRAD 2 BREAD WHEAT SEED

This is a HIGH YIELD AND VERY HIGH QUALITY bread wheat in the mid early maturity group, with hard, awned red grains, with white medium-large ears and a sturdy peduncle, and that can produce many tillers under appropriate conditions. Its characteristics and values, based on data and observations collected during tests, are briefly presented below.

It is resistant to cold weather and winter conditions. It does not get affected by early and late spring frosts. It is a variety that flourishes at lower temperatures. Thanks to these characteristics, it grows in many parts of our country where wheat is cultivated, all of the ground and irrigated areas, except for places where the winters are warm in the south and the high temperatures come early.

It is resistant to tilting due to its medium-length and sturdy peduncle. It can produce up to 10 tillers under suitable conditions. The average number of tillers is 5. Ears grow larger as conditions improve. It can produce up to 80 grains in one ear. The number of grains per ear is 45–55.

It is a variety of very high quality, with its thousand-grain and hectoliter weights ranging from medium to high, and its gluten, sedimentation and energy rates from high to very high.

Its nitrogen use efficiency improves greatly, especially under heavy rain or irrigation. With the increased efficiency in the use of nitrogen, yield and quality also improve. Under conditions in which irrigation is possible, irrigation at the beginning of earing and grain filling has a highly positive effect on yield and quality.

The yield of our DELABRAD 2 variety is in the 500–850 kg/da range. Irrigation and high rainfall increases the yield. Due to the increased water use, fertilization especially in summer must be carried out using ammonium nitrate, and at the beginning of earing, and a slightly increased use of fertilizer (5 kg/da max.) will improve both yield and quality.

The recommended seed quantity for October is 20–22 kg/da.

This is a 100 PERCENT DOMESTIC AND NATIONAL bread wheat variety with VERY HIGH YIELD that has been created completely through national means, that is in the mid early maturity group, that has hard, red grains and is awnless, with white medium-large ears and a very sturdy peduncle, and that can produce many tillers under suitable conditions. Its characteristics and values, based on data and observations made during the variety creation process, are briefly presented below.

It is resistant to cold weather and winter conditions. It is unaffected by extremely cold winters. It does not get affected by early and late spring frosts. It is a variety that flourishes at lower temperatures. Thanks to these characteristics, it grows in many parts of our country where wheat is cultivated, all of the ground and irrigated areas, except for places where the winters are warm in the south and the high temperatures come early.

Due to its medium-length and very sturdy peduncle, it does not tilt. It can produce up to 13 tillers under suitable conditions. The average number of tillers is 7. Ears grow larger as conditions improve. It can produce up to 100 grains in one ear. The number of grains per ear is 50–60.

It is a high quality variety, with thousand grain and hectoliter weights ranging from medium to high, its gluten and sedimentation rates from high to very high, and its energy from medium to high.

Its nitrogen use efficiency improves greatly, especially under heavy rain or irrigation. With the increased efficiency in the use of nitrogen, yield and quality also improve. Under conditions in which irrigation is possible, irrigation at the beginning of earing and grain filling has a highly positive effect on yield and quality.

The yield of our HÜSEYİNBEY variety is in the 600–1050 kg/da range. Irrigation and high rainfall increase the yield substantially.
