Hüseyinbey Bread Wheat Seed

Hüseyinbey Bread Wheat Seed

Hüseyinbey is a high-yield bread wheat developed entirely through national breeding work. It is a mid-early variety with hard red kernels, white medium large spikes, a strong peduncle, and an awnless structure. Under suitable conditions it forms many tillers and shows stable performance across different environments.

Its peduncle is medium in length but very sturdy, so the plant does not lodge. Under good growing conditions it can form up to 18 tillers, with an average of 10. Spike size increases as conditions improve. A single spike may carry one hundred grains, and usual counts fall between fifty and sixty.

The variety shows good quality traits. Thousand-grain weight and hectoliter weight are at medium to high levels. Gluten and sedimentation values range from high to very high, and dough energy ranges from medium to high.

Nitrogen-use efficiency increases significantly under irrigation or heavy rainfall. As nitrogen uptake improves, yield and quality rise as well. Irrigating at the beginning of heading and during grain filling has a strong positive effect. Because water use increases, fertilization in summer should be done with ammonium nitrate. Applying up to five kilograms more fertilizer per decare at the beginning of heading further supports yield and quality.

Hüseyinbey has an average on farm yield range of from 600 to 1500 kg per decare. Irrigation and high rainfall can push yields toward the upper end of this range.

The recommended seed rate for October sowing is 20-22 kilograms per decare
